The term “porch pounder” refers to a light, refreshing wine that’s gluggable enough to crush on a patio from AM to PM. This, however, is MOSTLY just a marketing resource.
hello, it’sssss monday and you know what that MEANSSSSS!! porch pounder comin’ in FRESH with a bunch of juicy jammy content inspo for your week ahead.
before we get into all that though, a couple things:
first, I know we’re all navigating the absolute mind fuck that is running a business when so much going on in the world is absolute bullshit, put mildly.
to help you navigate the endless question marks of how to keep leading through it, one of our community members, Kristina, made a free resource called “brand-care” to turn creative exploration into meaningful acts of care. it’s free, but there’s also the option to make a donation towards a non-profit! right now it’s an organization that supports immigration justice advocates, reunites families, and provides humanitarian legal needs in her region. even if you don’t need the resource right now, it’s SUCH an inspiring example of how we can use the tools we have to support folks.
(this isn’t sponsored, by the way! I just love what she’s doing and hope it’s helpful for you in some way).

001 / THE VIDEO

I’ve had a lot of clients seeing amazing results from posts that bring pop culture into the equation lately, which then opens the question of continuing the momentum after a hot topic pops off. this was such a fantastic example of how to create a spontaneous series off the back of the zeitgeist, first involving the audience in the decision making and then actually going through with it and sharing the process in a follow-up video. also worth mentioning, there are two different content categories at play here, her main niche (sports) but also hair! and wouldn’t you know, it all makes perfect sense!? YOU REALLY CAN DO IT ALL WITHOUT CONFUSING PEOPLE, I PROMISE.
PS. I too am waiting for a week where I don’t bring up Heated Rivalry in at least one newsletter but this week is not that week.

I know it’s lowkey jarring to see christmas cups when we’ve entered an entirely new universe since three weeks ago, but this post had to be seen!!! I’m always having conversations with my clients about unique ways to share portfolio work and this REALLY hit. I love the way she shows us the entire process from inquiry to behind the scenes to seeing the images live on feed, and the mixed media and varied layouts she incorporated keeps the visual experience super interesting. there are also some sneaky lil’ tips hidden throughout the bts so you walk away learning a bit more about the craft, too. ANYONE in a service-based space could follow these cues for something that shows off your skill, builds credibility, and keeps the audience SAT from slide to slide.
this is all VERY aligned with we cover in the carousel design section of life of the party, just sayinggg.

I’ve seen a theme emerging of more honesty on the feed, and this post from Jess is straight POETRY while also sharing a slab of her heart with her community as she navigates loss. what really stood out to me about this post wasn’t just the beautiful prose (though it heart my heart breaking and bursting all at once) but also the way she laces her expertise in astrology so seamlessly into this tribute, so even something so personal feels like an invitation to the reader. you’ll also notice as you swipe through the images, there’s a subtle storytelling throughout, which is an amazing way to maintain attention through imagery when you can’t lean on copy to encourage it.
004 / THE thread

bestie gets the threads spot this week because oh my god this bitch knows how to give us a GIGGLE. if you don’t know sara’s lore, she’s very counter-girlboss, so this made me LOL extra because you thiiiiiink that’s where it’s going, BUT NO! brilliant, relatable, makes sense with her brand but doesn’t over-explain that, comments are joining in on the fun, love to see it.
005 / THE episode
eeeee! I’m SO excited to share this conversation that hollis and I recorded just a few weeks ago. she asked such powerful questions about the leisure ethic principles that I live and work by, and there are so many tangible takeaways around auditing work for alignment, navigating hard conversations, embracing conflict as intimacy, and how sustainable success emerges from integration rather than sacrifice.
