things to put in your calendar now if your goal is to prioritize social media this year

‘tis the season for posting the least but scrolling the MOST, stackkkking those saves folders with a mile-high want-to-create list that you’ll definitely, miraculously, have time to do in between all the other business goals and client priorities waiting for you on the other side of new year’s eve. right??? 👀

I’ve literally saved more inspo in the last 5 days than in the last 5 MONTHS combined, so TRUST when I say this isn’t coming from a high horse — but I’ve also been doing this whole supporting-my-family-exclusively-from-social-media thing for a hot minute and I know that there’s a crucial step between the idea collecting and the idea executing:

MAKING SURE YOUR CALENDAR IS AS COMMITTED TO YOUR SOCIAL GOALS AS YOU ARE.

literally, I’m gonna need you to pull up your google cally as you read this.

done?

k, proceed ↓

before the year is in full swing, while your calendar still feels like *yours*, find space or the following:

001 / EXPRESSION SESSIONS!

AKA, free creative space where you can just *play*, ideate, putter, whatever. this is more about quality time than frequency, so claim what you can, whether it’s 30 mins daily or a deep dive once a week.

002 / CONTENT PLANNING DATES!

AKA, a specific time each week where you decide what you’re posting next, based on what your people need, what’s inspiring you, and what’s going to move the needle on your biz sales-wise (and make it fun and cute and vibey so you actually look forward to it!!!).

003 / MARKETING SHIFTS!

AKA, dedicated *execution time* where you’re not ideating or strategizing, you’re just DOIN’ THE SH*T THAT NEEDS TO GET DONE so you can press POST. and then, actually pressing it. again, quality > frequency here, but my hottest tip for this one is to pencil it in *early* — before emails, before client work — to ensure you’re actually hitting POST before you start giving your energy to other people.

The best part: if you prioritize these systems now, you can spend the rest of the year creating content you’re actually inspired by and then getting it out the door so it can impact your people.
