the term “porch pounder” refers to a light, refreshing wine that’s gluggable enough to crush on a patio from AM to PM. This, however, is MOSTLY just a marketing resource.

okay, there are about sixty five things I love about this so let’s see if I can make it concise: first, I LOVE when someone can take something simple, like chilling in the hotel ordering room service, and turn it into something that we can feel SO genuinely invested in. like, this could’ve been a “spend the night in a hotel with me” vlog!!!!! BUT NO! INSTEAD, we got innovation. we got a beautiful adventure. AND ANOTHER THING: there’s a misconception that talking-head content needs to be done in a very formal way — buttoned up like we’re in an interview or on stage or whatever. insert pressure to perfect it and 840983409283 takes that never get posted anyway. (if you saw my stories last week you know I’m guilty of this too!) BUT!!!! it’s this face-time-y, funny, casual energy that makes us feel so much more connected to creators. damn. sharing this here this week as a reminder to ME 😉 that we get to have fun with it, and a reminder to YOUUUU that there are a myriad of engaging ways to share what we’re up to and no matter how banal it may seeeeem, you CAN position it to be super engaging.

I’m hearing from lots of you that you’re wanting to explore youtube this year (ahem, do it!) and I’ve been soooo loving the way maia has integrated her YT presence into her IG content, like this photo buffet. such a cool way to get folks excited about an upcoming video — and the way she’s been promoting other videos once they’re live has been 1000/10 as well). photo buffets in general are such a cool way to show “behind the scenes” of literally ANYTHING (an offer being created, a long-form piece you’re working on) and summer is peak time to capture lots of gorgeyyyyy photos of whatever you’re up to. I can’t wait to see ‘em!!!
003 / the graphic

ok loooove this graphic because of how accessible the notes-app-screenshot-with-photo combo is to create. honourable mention to using a photo of herself as the cover PLUSSSS! actually having visual representation of each scent with the descriptions. loooved the whole journey here. AND FINALLY what a f*cking hook! I’ve seen a few different styles in this format (like this “what I got most complimented on” video) and there’s something about it that just tickles our desire for human connection + interaction and draws a subtle bridge between the URL and IRL. what are folks stopping you in person to talk to you about? what questions are you asked all the time? this is a really fun one to play with!!!
005 / the episode

I KNOOOOW you’re gonna want to listen to this week’s episode of wanting in public because speaking of questions I’m asked most often, “how do I start posting again after a break from the feed?” is top three, and this week that’s what I supported Kaitlyn with during our coaching corner. she helped me figure out how I could continue using time management tools without creating unnecessary (and undesirable) pressure around my creativity, and it was SOO helpful to get her perspective. we also share our monthly “want lists” for the month, where we share what we’re working towards and how we intend on getting it 😉 so expect lots of practices that’ll help you with your may goals, too!!
