“success doesn’t have to be loud to be real”

the term “porch pounder” refers to a light, refreshing wine that’s gluggable enough to crush on a patio from AM to PM. This, however, is MOSTLY just a marketing resource.

001 / the video

I loooooove this DITL vlog from jess, because she practices one of my favourite principles: just say so. this is where you name the wobbly bits out loud so that they become the content instead of holding you back from creating it. at the same time, this video is also packed with lessons from the way she moves through her day, giving you something tangible to reflect on as you learn more about her life through the video. AND ANOTHER THING!! I love how she makes this piece super timely via the caption, speaking to the fact that folks are starting to think about Q2 and meeting them in that process. HELL YEAH, ALL AROUND.

travel photo diary BUTTTTT you show your expertise at the same time!!!! this post is my fave fave faaaave kind of content and a beautiful example of lifestyle leadership at work. she could have just said “spend a weekend in mexico city with me” but by saying “a designer’s weekend” we can immediately assume what kinds of imagery she’ll be sharing and the caliber of recommendations we’ll get from scrolling through. not to mention she delivers THE GOODS when it comes to the way she’s put it all together — so much mixed media, fun cutouts, and some text overlaid for context. not a photo technically, but also must draw attention to this post of hers because I’m obsessed. ugh!! the creativity knows no bounds and I simply love to see it.

it has been SO effing cool to see folks creating with the carousel templates I launched this week but I actually was ready to save this post from Kaye before I even clocked that she was using one of the DFE designs. the entire conversation is so beautifully delivered, not to mention a message that’s SO important to remember as a business owner online. the last line of the caption, “Success doesn’t have to be loud to be real,” is something I think about ALL the time. obviously my job is to support folks who do want to show up as the face of their brand online: but that’s only one version of entrepreneurial success.

this isn’t the first time I’ve shared hollis’ content in this newsletter and it won’t be the last ‘CAUSE SHE’S GOOD AT IT!!! I know so many folks in this community are curious about growing on substack — like, what actually performs well there, sells offers, and still feels like an act of expression — and hollis has been putting a consistent effort into that space since she stepped back from instagram last July and is AMAZING inspo for anyone looking to do the same. recently she created this resource that is one of the most comprehensive pieces I’ve seen on there to date and does such a gorgeous job of exploring hollis’ unique perspective on her craft and giving folks a tangible guide they’ll be able to come back to over and over. I love that she paired it with a podcast episode, too (that embed at the top!!! adore!) and the visuals she’s incorporated throughout make it feel even more thoughtful.

006 / the episode

kaitlyn and I had SUCH a rich chat on friday, digging into so many juicy topics like having a more empowering relationship to money, trusting your desires, manifesting new friends and calling in unexpected opportunities. in our coaching corner, Kaitlyn shares her plans to take some time away from social and asks for support deciding whether to “build in public” while she makes some changes behind the scenes. personally, I opened up about some wobbles she’s having around focusing on endeavors outside my education business, wanting to make sure I’m not risking my primary income source by making space for my other creative passions. thennnn we wrap with a listener-submitted question about how to overcome the fear of being perceived online by people who underestimated or belittled you in a previous career!! SO FULL OF GOODNESS I HOPE YOU LISTEN!!!

k, that’s all 🙂
see you ON THE INTERNET soooon
